Tulum Mayan ruinsPlanning to have a vacation in Playa del Carmen? It’s a great choice because the fun beach town on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico has everything like beaches, Mayan ruins, cenotes and much more a vacationer dreams of. Here’s how you can do the most of your Playa del Carmen vacation.

1. Diving/Snorkeling in Cenotes

You may wonder what a cenote is. Well, cenotes are underground caves filled with fresh water. They are abundant in Yucatan, sinkholes opening up in underground rivers with the clearest water you might have ever seen!

You can go for scuba diving in cenotes with a guide if you have a PADI license. Since there’s daylight close to the entrance, there’s no need for a more technical cave diving license.

No worries if you are not a diver! You can enjoy snorkeling in most of these caves including Cenote Dos Ojos, Garden of Eden, Cenote Azul, Gran Cenote and many more!
