India is attractive, colorful and the perfect land for adventure seekers. However, it is multiethnic, multilingual and multifaceted land and that means you should follow certain rules in order to enjoy your vacation. We will mention some of India travel tips that might be useful if you plan to travel to India.

Bargaining is welcome and/or necessary! When you go shopping, every shop keeper will notice you are a foreigner and he/she will try to multiply prices. So, even though you are not used to it, bargaining will get you incredible discounts. In India this way of buying things as cheap as possible is considered impolite, but common and welcome.

Vaccination before the arrival! Foreigners should get proper vaccination before they come to India. Even though it is mandatory in most countries, there is a chance to be overlooked sometimes. However, the air and the water are quite harsh for tourists who have not already lived in India for a while. Keep in mind that the waterborne diseases are more frequent here and therefore it is recommended to drink only bottled water. Hygiene standards are different from region to region, and it takes time to adapt to food, water and climate in India.

Spicy means very spicy! In India, people are used to extremely spicy food. Foreigners from the U.S. and Europe might be quite unpleasantly surprised and stressed when they taste some of the Indian traditional meals. But, there is no need to worry, just mention that you prefer not too spicy food and you will get what you want.

Take off your shoes when entering the household! In India, it is considered to be disrespectful if the guest enters the house with slushy, dirty and muddy boots. Of course, this rule does not apply to the hotels and similar accommodation.
