World’s Clubbing Capital – Ibiza
Eivissa in Catalan, Ibiza is surely one of the most popular islands in Spain. Indeed, it is beautiful with its dense pine forests and astonishing cove beaches. Although it’s undoubtedly an island of excess, its the visitors and islanders who make Ibiza so special. It was the hippie escape in Europe and nowadays it’s the unofficial clubbing capital of the world.
Ibiza has always attracted wealthy bohemian, hedonists and celebrities, but now most people are coming to experience its clubbing scene, surely for a reason. All of the top house DJs, as well as young and promising performers, visit and perform on Ibiza during the summer season. Check out Ibiza Party Calendar and Ibiza Guide if you wish to plan your journey according to the party options. Some of the most spectacular clubs of the world are spread accross the southern half of an island; to get in you’ll have to give approximately 50€ and they are open between midnight and 6a.m. There are the Discobus ferries working from midnight to 6:30 a.m. offering an affordable ride from Ibiza Town to the major clubbing places.
The best place to base yourself is probably Ibiza Town, only a short bus ride from stunning beaches and crammed with boutiques, restaurants and bars. Sant Antoni offers a great choice of bars and clubs, but the restaurants are not as appealing. In case you would like to explore the north of Ibiza, base yourself in the cozy town of Santa Eularia. If you’re looking for stunning beaches, don’t worry; you will find so many beautiful cove beaches all around the shoreline. To reach the best sunbathing and water sports spots, you’ll need your own transport, though. From October to May, Ibiza is rather peaceful, since just a few funky bars and clubs remain open through the winter.
