When will cruises start againCruise trips are sheer joy, because the experience is totally stress-free. You’re given a huge timeframe to board the ship, so there are no worries of missing your boat. Once you’re onboard, everyone from the cruise staff is happy to serve you, you get so many options of entertainment, foods, sports or even just rest, in short, you literally have to rest, eat, play and enjoy! No wonder, cruise trips are the most favorite form of holidaying for those who have experienced the cruise fun.

The current COVID-19 pandemic, however, has spoiled all the fun. Every sort of vacationing along with cruises has come to a halt. So, cruise fans have only one question in their mind, “When will cruises start again?”

huge timeframe to board the ship

The good news is that cruises are going to start soon. It’s estimated that the first cruise after the long corona gap will start its journey at around July end. If you’ve not gone on a cruise so far, you must this time. Here are a few tips that will make your cruise holiday even more fun.

1. Pack for Excursions

Your cruise trip package will consist of adventures, hiking and beach trips. To have full pleasure of these excursions, you’ll need a shoulder backpack. It’s also a good idea to bring an old pair of tennis shoes which you were about to trash. You’ll be happy that you brought them as they will become very dirty. Another thing to remember is that none of the onboard shops will be open while at port; so, if you need water or sunscreen before an excursion, you should plan well ahead of time. Don’t forget to pack beach towels the night before. Start as early as possible, as there would be long lines when all your co-passengers will try to leave the ship together at the same time.

It’s a common tendency of all people to spend big while on vacations. It’s not bad to buy some fine jewelry or similar pricey items at one of your ports of call. However, it’s good to educate yourself first. Several cruises organize seminars in this regard e.g. what to look for in real diamonds and other precious stones and jewelry. By attending these seminars, you can learn where and what to buy. Several cruise lines even offer a return policy if you purchase from their recommended vendors, about which they inform in the seminars.

3. Don’t Let Sickness Spoil Your Trip

While you’re thinking on “When will cruises start again?” they will start within no time and you may have to prepare to fight motion sickness. You can get onboard doctor to treat you, but the treatment comes for a price in addition to the already-inflated costs of your pills. If you’ll be on the cruise for the first time and think that you may contract sickness, visit your regular doctor in advance for a relevant medication and a medicated glue patch to apply behind ears.

If you’re prone to seasickness, book a room at the center of the ship, preferably with a balcony or porthole. Here too you’ll feel the motion of the sea, but the nausea and other symptoms are even worse when you get an interior room and the horizon is out of your sight.

You should take care to carry all possible medications and remedies with you on your cruise trip in order to avoid ill health. Make sure you take diarrhea/constipation medications, medications for allergies and motion sickness, sunscreen and all other medications with you from home. They would cost around ten times more in the onboard shops. Worse even, they might not be available.

4. Don’t Forget to Carry Towel Clips

You may find this senseless or not very essential. But believe me, the tiny gadgets called towel clips will be very helpful to you on a windy ship deck. They will prevent your towel from flying off in the wind and you’ll thank yourself that you carried them.

With these apparently trivial things, you can enjoy your cruise trip to the fullest. So follow them and have fun!
