Since I have travelled to Javea in Spain, buying a property there is my ultimate dream! The town is so beautiful that I cannot describe it fully! Located behind a huge bay and sandwiched between two peninsulas, Javea looks like a pearl shining in the ocean. It has a long coastline with four capes, miles of fertile land with tiny gleaming streams crisscrossing and thickets of olives and oranges. Standing on the backdrop of the Montgo, this town seems to lack nothing in beauty and splendor! Indeed the residents of Javea are fortunate to have such a lovely ambience of beaches and mountain valleys full of orchids! I envied them when I saw the lavish villas in Javea and decided to come here to spend rest of my life!

Popular Retirement Destination

I also came to know that it is not only me who wish this, but there are a lot of others like me! Javea is the favorite retirement place for many people, especially the Northern European expatriates and property selling business is one of the most thriving one here. Many new villas and apartment complexes are under construction in the lush green forests on the hills and along the coast. The beauty of the plains remains untouched though and they have to just grow more and more oranges!

Because of the astounding beauty of the town, it is a popular tourist destination too. And hence it has an excellent infrastructure.

A person who gets to live in Javea is really lucky as the town is not only bestowed with natural beauty, but also has lovely people, energetic environment and year-round mild climate. People here are extremely warm and friendly. Being a port Javea has a very active fishing scene and to watch the happenings on the marina is utmost amusing.

Mystical Buildings

Javea has some of the most outstanding examples of architecture too, in form of buildings like Church of Senora de Loreto and the monastery of Nuestra Senora de los Angeles which is a cluster of tiny hermitages nestled in the mountains. What’s more, there is a series of ancient windmills too. All these create an extremely attractive and quaint aura around the town.

Lip-smacking Cuisine

It is really needless to say that cuisine of Javea is adorned with fresh seafood. Fish, vegetables, rice, fruits and olive oil are inevitable ingredients of the meals here. Together they make utmost lip-smacking and healthy dishes, like Arroz Negro (black rice), Arroz a banda (rice and fish stew), Arroz al horno (baked rice), lamb chops, roasted lamb leg with garlic, rabbit in garlic , sausages, black pudding and many  more.

Javea Town Fiesta

July is the time of Javea Town Fiesta which is held in the second fortnight of the month, when the atmosphere is colorful with dances, music, fireworks, parades and of course feasts. I missed it just by some days, but could sense the lingering festiveness in the pleasant air.

Sports Loving Town

Javea is a town of sports lovers and water sports and golf are especially popular here, and I love both. The scene of marina with colorful yachts is unmatched. I just cannot forget the evening walks along the marina.
