Yearning for relaxation, pristine tropical beaches and friendly, peaceful and democratic people? Costa Rica has it all, whether you seek for low budget or expensive resorts, this country offers ideal vacation. And, it has to be mentioned, many people come to Costa Rica as travelers and remain there as locals, for the rest of their lives. The most recognizable phrase related to the people of Costa Rica is “Pura Vida” meaning “pure / good life”. And this phrase really describes what travelers feel and see visiting this beautiful and eco-friendly country. Costa Rica is multiethnic, multicultural and multilingual Central American country and it is not an island, as people often think, in fact it is bordered by Caribbean Sea, Pacific Ocean, but also with countries Nicaragua and Panama. Costa Rican traditional cuisine is a fusion of Native American, African, Spanish and several more origins and Tamale is very traditional dish. Perhaps the main reason for people to visit this beautiful country is its astonishing nature. One of the 7 natural wonders of Costa Rica is Cocos Island and only Costa Rican Park rangers are allowed to live there. This island represents “must do” scuba diving spot according to diving experts. It is considered to be amongst 10 best diving spots because the large pelagic species can be seen in this unique meeting point between shallow and deep waters. Other natural wonders of Costa Rica are Arenal Volcano, Celeste River, Poas Volcano, Monteverde Reserve, Chirripo Mountain and Tortuguero Canals. Ecotourism is very popular amongst travelers and Costa Rica may be considered to be a pioneer in this type of tourism.
The variety and beauty of flora and fauna species is almost unbelievable and irresistible for nature lovers. Tropical plants, exotic wildlife, the rainforest and pristine beaches are amazing. But, it is good not to forget that in this country, smiling faces are everywhere because in Costa Rica life is good – “pura vida”!
