Have you already visited Berlin? If your answer is yes, this article might remind you why you liked it that much back then. If, however, you still didn’t travel to the capital of Germany, we’ll make you so want to do it! No matter your tastes run to punk or posh, you can undoubtedly sate them in Berlin.
I spend last weekend in Berlin and I felt like I would like to stay there forever! It was my second time in this metropolis and I remembered why I fell in love with it for the first time. I like to wander down the streets with a camera as a typical tourist, but I also like to lie on the (clean and neat!) grass with my coffee to go and enjoy the Sunshine. Well, needless to say, I’ve done both in Berlin.
Berlin’s full of guerilla clubs and unconventional cafes, but it’s also an European heart of Art and Culture. Anywhere you go, you’ll run to a top museum or gallery. In fact, when it comes to fashion, design, art and music, it looks like New York back in the ’80s. Creative people from all around the globe have been drawn in Berlin, because of city’s legendary climate of openness, tolerance and experimentation. What’s more, this is one of those “eternally unfinished” cities and artists come here to leave their trace. Well, cheap rents are one more reason!
Why does Berlin have such a contagious energy? Maybe because of its dynamic history, since just in the previous century it staged revolution, it was bombed to bits, divided and reunited again. The Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate and what is left of the Wall will make you encounter the history every time you turn a corner.
Frankly, Berlin is nowadays the city that never sleeps, bars and restaurants are jammed 24/7. It’s bubbly and vibrant, but it also functions on an exquisitely human scale. Public transport is splendid, traffic jam is quite rare and you will feel very safe while walking at night.
Well, I know this isn’t one of those – “must see” reviews; I wanted to skip that this time. Go to Berlin, see and feel it yourself and you’ll love it. I can count on that!
