Traveling to the Kingdom of Spain can be quite costly experience when accommodations, transportation and airfare are taken into account. If, however, you have to buy expensive airplane tickets, the rest of your travel costs do not have to be too high. Of course, if you plan your vacation correctly. Trust us, there are many ways to enjoy your Spanish trip and still to stay on a budget.
First of all, think about which cities in Spain you want to visit. Madrid and Barcelona are big cities and their hotel rates are much higher than in, for example, Andalusia. If you minimize your stay in Barcelona and Madrid, you will taste the authentic Spanish flavor and relaxed atmosphere in Granada, Malaga, Cordoba and Seville. If you want to enjoy Mediterranean Sea and good weather, visit Valencia, a city full of culture and light and you’ll spend less money than in Barcelona. Of course, we don’t recommend you to avoid Madrid and Barcelona, but to spend less days there and more days in some cities that are not so costly.
When it comes to accommodation, if you are younger, you can always look for a nice and affordable hostels. There are many of them all across Spain, so you won’t have problems finding a bed for yourself. Or try sharing a flat in Barcelona? If you share a problem, you half a problem and this goes for accommodation costs, too. If you travel with your family, hostels might not be such a good solution. But, still you don’t have to pay too much on expensive 4 stars hotel rooms. Look for apartments in Valencia, for example. Kids prefer home-like atmosphere and therefore they will like your stay even more if you find a nice apartment. Also, you can make breakfast and dinner here, so you can cut of “eating costs”, too.
