Magical Andalusia is a region of contrasts in the south of Spain. Amazing beaches, mountains, deserts and ancient cities make Andalusia a region you should not miss if you travel to Spain! Jaen, Malaga, Huelva, Cadiz, Almeria, Granada, Cordoba and Seville are the eight provinces into which Andalusia is divided. Every province has the same name as its capital city. Feel and enjoy the most distinctive Spanish art form, Flamenco in Seville, its home! Passionate vocals and guitar playing stir the emotions, making Flamenco not all about the dancing. Seville’s Cathedral represents the marriage of Moorish and Christian designs and therefore it is a spectacular sight to be seen. In Granada, famous for its various incredible bars, free tapas are served with every drink. And if in Granada, try to find some hotel close to the Alhambra, the Moorish fortress complex with astonishing gardens and buildings of amazing beauty you can see only here.
White villages of Andalusia (pueblos blancos) look like some sugar cubes that are spilled on a green colored tablecloth. Visitors are somehow taken to a simpler time when buildings were built to withstand the climate and agriculture was the most important for economy. Once they discover a tranquility and stress-free life, far away from the crowded and noisy cities, some of the foreigners are interested in moving to these rural communities.
The home of modern bullfighting, Ronda, is also the province you should not miss when in Andalusia. Three generations of Romero family established modern bullfighting, so visit a Corridas Goyescas, a great bullfighting festival held in September. Because of it’s location, Ronda is amongst the last towns that fell to the Christians and therefore it has an amazing Islamic old town to explore. Beside the history, landscapes of the Ronda province are astonishing. Cross El Tajo, the deep ravine on the grandest bridge, the Puento Nuevo.
Muslims, Christians, Gypsies, flamenco, bulls, horses and donkeys – Andalusia represents the Spain as many people imagine it. Feel, hear, see, taste and explore all the spices, diversities and beauties of Andalusia!
